Honda CR V 2015

The inconspicuous SUV from Honda is a worldwide bestseller. Now the Japanese have refilled and present more than just a facelift.

So far, Honda has sold his SUV called CRV world around 7.2 million units, it is the undisputed bestseller in the portfolio of the Japanese manufacturer. The current fourth generation was introduced in 2012 while, but now gets a thorough facelift missed. There are good reasons and not only affect optical revision. Honda has upgraded mainly on the technical side.

There is for example the brand new adaptive spacer. Honda has developed the cruise control (ACC) to a highly intelligent system called i-ACC - it can up to five seconds to look further into the future than the driver and his eye).

A new 1.6-liter diesel engine with 160 hp (plus ten hp) replaces the previous 2.2-liter diesel. Thanks to two-stage turbocharging, the new drive but provides the same 350 Nm of torque and will also set new standards with an average fuel consumption of 4.9 liters in terms of efficiency. The two-liter petrol engine remains the same, delivers 155 hp with a maximum torque of 192 Nm. Both engines provide the Euro 6 standard. Manages the power of the diesel engine now but at the request of a nine-speed transmission, which contributes to the supplier ZF. The chassis has redesigned Honda: A wider track, a modified camber and especially for German customers in more direct steering set-promise better agility. Since the Japanese has been adapted to the taste of European customers.

But that was not all: Honda can now also quietly. The sounds of the previous model, which was like a caricature as "booming lubricant", are final story. The insulating materials in the door seals are now covered twice as thick like before, the floor covering materials were improved, as the sound absorption in the instrument panel and doors and pillars. Also a part of the bonnet was better sealed against the wind. The amazing result: even at higher speeds can be heard much more than the wind and the rolling noise of the tires.

What makes the facelift else out? New interior materials, a design that wants to know Honda front understood as "flowing wind", new LED tail lights and a boot volume of 1669 liters, the actual "best of class" is (unfortunately the rear seats in the longitudinal direction is not adjustable - otherwise it could be even more under certain circumstances). The new infotainment system called Honda Connect (based on Google's Android, but refuses to not even Apple) is provided with a seven-inch touch display, Bluetooth and can also be Internet-enabled. But a more than big downer is the preparation of the navigation system by Garmin is - even if four annual passes Update are available for free: the system displays different traffic lanes barely separated and are necessary direction changes often so late and misleading in that was more than once a detour necessary.

The first exit nevertheless shows why 2015 CR-V is the world so desires: He is pure mainstream, he is average in the best sense. He does not request a driver, he can basically almost everything is up to date and currently remains an inconspicuous road users. The new nine-speed automatic harmonizes perfectly with the diesel engine, the performance and consumption data are suitable for every family man: The new CR-V uses an average of five to seven liter, diesel and seven to nine liters with the petrol engine. Only show the acceleration from 0 to 100. Depending on the engine, drive (2WD or 4WD) takes it from 0 to 100 kph from 9.6 to 12.3 seconds.
